5.   Democracy activists have labeled the convention a sham because most delegates were handpicked by the military, and the constitution they are drafting enshrines military rule.

6.   The convention has been criticized from many quarters, including pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi, as a stage-managed affair designed to enshrine military rule.
