1.   The weaker Liberal Democratic party was now considering an electoral alliance with Labour.

2.   Discussions took place between the two parties over a possible electoral alliance, but broke down in April.

8.   For the moment the issue of affiliation was subordinated to that of forming an electoral alliance against the National Government.
