1.   Flaps were to be left in the down position to facilitate the removal of mud and other debris prior to their retraction.

2.   The pen can be either in the down position or in the up position.

3.   In the down position, it interferes with shifting, using the handbrake, and fastening seat belts.

4.   So the little Volkswagen Cabrio was a welcomed diversion, its wonderfully easy-folding top spend ing most of its time in the down position.

5.   The gear performed properly only when placed in the down position.

6.   Thomas is being considered for a down position again.
