1.   By midday, the dollar trimmed the gains amid concern that Japanese exporters will sell dollars for yen when the U.S. currency rises further, traders said.

2.   The dollar could trim its gains later today after the U.S. Labor Department releases its employment cost index for October, November and December, some traders said.
