1. Dollars have less international purchasing power and more dollars have to be spent. 2. Analysts also say the U.S. economy is growing fast enough to prevent the Federal Reserve from cutting rates, so the dollar has room to rise. 3. And at that point, the dollar will have a single rate throughout Western Europe. 4. And by the end of this decade the dollar may have a new serious rival if the European Union creates a single currency. 5. And it is, of course, against the mighty mark -- and the distant Japanese yen -- that the dollar has fared poorly of late. 6. And, of course, a dollar has the same value anyplace in the country. 7. Against the yen, the dollar has little room to gain, analysts said. 8. But analysts are not worried about this impact because the falling dollar will also have positive effects. 9. But the dollar has an additional life overseas. 10. But the dollar may have only short-lived speculative reasons for rising, analysts said. |
