2.   Abu Hassan said the State Umno six-member administration committee headed by him has been set up to monitor all divisional meetings which will start next month.

3.   Anwar also announced several changes to the appointment of supreme council members who were assigned to supervise certain divisional meetings.

4.   At the divisional meeting, Bota assemblyman Hasbollah Ismail and Che Ri Daud retained their deputy head and vice head post respectively after defeating their challengers in straight fights.

5.   Dr Mahathir had earlier chaired the Kubang Pasu Umno divisional meeting.

6.   He also gave assurance that all divisional meetings would be closely monitored by the State Umno Liaison Committee to ensure that they were being carried out according to procedures.

7.   He added that Anwar would also open the Umno Kuala Nerus divisional meeting in the afternoon.

8.   In Kuala Terengganu, Umno members have been told to remain disciplined and to adhere to party rules to avoid complications in the branch and divisional meetings.

9.   KUALA LUMPUR, Tues. - The Umno management and disciplinary committee has decided that members involved in fights at branch and divisional meetings will lose their rights as delegates.

10.   Speaking to reporters after opening the Kubang Pasu Umno divisional meeting, Dr Mahathir said as a short-term measure, consumers should strive to reduce wastage.
