1.   A check at the site showed the fire had spread to an area across a large disused mining pool, making it difficult for firemen to reach.

2.   Abu Hassan and his delegation were taken to the lakes, disused mining pools undergoing rehabilitation and the peat forests.

3.   He said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad had also suggested that local authorities create water fountains from disused mining pools to reduce dust and temperature.

4.   He said there was also potential for those wishing to rear tilapia and catfish on a commercial scale at disused mining pools, and swampy and idle lands.

5.   Law also said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad had suggested that fountains be built at disused mining pools to reduce the dust particles and lower the temperature.
