1.   Apart from the rape accusation, Villar-Gana was recently convicted in Cameron, La., of the attempted murder of a police officer and of distributing cocaine.

2.   Stuart is charged with distributing cocaine and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

3.   The authorities described the Velasquez Organization as a vast cocaine trafficking operation that earned several million dollars annually by distributing cocaine all over the metropolitan area.

4.   Walsh has pleaded guilty in federal court to far more serious crimes, including distributing cocaine, and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in return for leniency when sentenced.
