1.   Besides, many semitransparent deck stains are water-repellent preservatives with a small amount of pigment added to give them color.

2.   A deck stain has a fair amount of pigment and can peel.

3.   A paint manufacturer suggested I remove all the stain and apply a transparent deck stain.

4.   Do not use paint or a solid-color stain, or a so-called deck stain.

5.   In the good old days these floors were painted, but instead of painting, I suggest you use semi-transparent oil stain or deck stain.

6.   Most deck stains are not semitransparent, so do not use them unless they are specified as semitransparent.

7.   The deck stain might peel, but not as much as paint.

8.   You could try a deck stain, specially formulated for floors, but they have a fair amount of pigment, and may peel.
