1.   Attach the cover plate.

2.   Before replacing the cover plate, inspect it closely for cracks.

3.   A metal cover plate is screwed onto the box to enclose the cable connections.

4.   After attaching the box supports, reconnect all the wires and replace the cover plate.

5.   After shutting off power to the box and performing the voltage test, remove the cover plate and pull out the receptacle.

6.   Carefully push all the wires inside the box and attach a cover plate.

7.   Cracked or damaged cover plates should be replaced.

8.   During a subsequent spacewalk, the Mir crew may attempt to use the cover plate to seal the leak in the Spektr module caused by the June collision.

9.   During the excursion, they plan to leave a metal cover plate on the outside of the station.

10.   Engineers believe it is possible the aluminum cover plate was improperly installed before the flight and rattled free because of the vibration of the igniting rocket engines.
