1. Do not use coral sand as a filter bed substrate as this will gradually dissolve and affect the calcium level. 2. The coral sand surrounding coral reefs is believed to be mostly produced by Parrotfish and Triggerfish. 3. This accumulates on the sea bed as coral sand. 4. Bacteria which thrive in the tropical conditions live in the coral sand. 5. Bacteria that thrive in the tropical conditions live in the coral sand. 6. Many survivors underwent amputations because bacteria-filled coral sand had infected wounds, causing gangrene, said Lt. Col. John Crozer, a surgeon. |
