1.   Copious rain will fall in parts of the South as a slow jet stream disturbance emerging from Mexico intercepts humid air from the Gulf of Mexico.

2.   Nevertheless, because of its enormous size, forecasters warned Floyd could still drop copious rain as it moved inland on its predicted track up the Eastern Seaboard.

3.   On several occasions, disturbances in the vigorous jet stream have combined with plumes of moist air from the south, to produce clusters of thunderstorms with copious rain.

4.   Weak high-level winds will result in slow-moving thunderstorms that can drop copious rain in isolated areas.
