1.   Three currencies are used in Cuba -- the Cuban peso, the U.S. dollar and the convertible Cuban peso which is traded on par with the dollar.

2.   Parliament has discussed the issuing of a convertible peso, but no decision has been made, he said.

3.   The convertible pesos have the same denominations as U.S. currency.

4.   It is pegged at one convertible peso to the US dollar.
