1.   Clenenden also hopes to expand a program in which condor chicks are reared by their parents in natural-looking man-made caves to limit all contact with humans.

2.   Nine condor chicks are being prepared for release at Vermilion Cliffs in December, Wallace said.

3.   Scientists hope to have field facilities constructed by mid-November, and to transfer condor chicks to release pens shortly after that.

4.   The condor chick, small enough to fit in the palm of a hand, will rely on adults for food for most of the next year.
