1.   Palmer announced the formation of two new divisions, the computer systems division, to be run by Enrico Pesatori, and the components division, under Charles Christ.

2.   Siemens said its components division was one of its best performers.

3.   Sybase will incorporate Visual Components into its Powersoft components division.

4.   The Midland-based company said it agreed to buy the assets of the disk drive components division of VisPro Corp. of Beaverton, Oregon.

5.   The new company, which has not been named, will be headquartered in Hong Kong and run by Philippe Combes, chief executive of Philips display components division.

6.   The components distribution division saw a rise in sales, both in Hong Kong and on the mainland.

7.   Within six months, Lucent expects to complete its spinoff off Agere Systems, its semiconductor and optical components division that it took public earlier this year.
