1.   For eight years, Alan G. Hevesi has been the city comptroller, making him one of just three elected citywide officials in New York.

2.   In addition to Hahn, two citywide officials -- City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo and Controller Laura Chick -- took the ceremonial oath as did five new City Council members.

3.   The confusing situation developed when Hahn vetoed the measure because it included citywide elected officials as well as council members.

4.   The suit underlines the growing tension between the mayor and the comptroller, who are respectively the leading citywide elected officials of the Republican and Democratic Parties.
