1. A five-story hotel near downtown is crammed with Chinese traders, three, four and more to a room. 2. Chinese traders also left a mark on Nagasaki, apparent in the temples scattered on the hillside above Dejima. 3. Chinese traders who travel farther inside the country, mostly selling flour, all seem to return with tales of human horror. 4. Like many Chinese traders and workers in the Russian far east, they say they will be here only for a short time. 5. Then, when the border with China opened, Chinese traders rushed in to fill the vacuum, at cheaper prices. 10.
