1.   Its wooden centre section can be raised and lowered to form a defensive barrier.

2.   The descent engine occupied the centre section, with the propellant tanks arranged symmetrically round the outside to balance the weight distribution.

3.   The turbo engines have a much smaller frontal cross-section than their reciprocating forebears and therefore require modifications to the centre section, bulkhead, bearers and nacelles.

4.   The wings had solid spruce spars, and consisted of a centre section and outer panels, with spruce and plywood ribs.

5.   The monoplane wing comprised a lengthy parallel-chord centre section, with tapered outer panels incorporating Frise-type ailerons.
