1.   Asset-backed bonds also lagged because they mostly carry shorter maturities, which benefit less from falling yields.

2.   Government and corporate bonds from Brazil are being sold at lower and lower interest rates while carrying longer maturities.

3.   The country retired the Brady bonds, securities that were backed with U.S. Treasuries, by issuing new uncollateralized bonds carrying longer maturities.

4.   Bank bonds would carry maturities of three to five years, it said.
