1.   Increasingly powerful computers and demanding software need higher capacity memory chips.

2.   It takes years to take a new, higher capacity chip from the laboratory to the production line.

3.   Miyaji said the new plant would be one of the first to mass-produce the high capacity DRAM chips among Texas Instruments group companies.
