1. Brownies should be moist when a cake tester is inserted in the center. 2. Pierce the hot loaf about a dozen times to the bottom with a bamboo skewer or metal cake tester. 3. Remove from oven and stick any bubbles that have formed with a cake tester and press cookie dough to force out air. 4. The layers are ready when a cake tester or toothpick inserted into their centers comes out clean. 5. You cannot test for doneness with a cake tester, because cake will appear sticky even when it is done. |
