1.   A large cluster of storms may bring hail to parts of eastern Kansas and Oklahoma.

2.   A small, but intense disturbance, which brought small hail to Texas Thursday, will move northeastward into the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys.

3.   For years, public opinion opposed it because of a popular belief that a previous attempt brought damaging hail.

4.   Elsewhere in the state, flooded roads stranded motorists and heavy thunderstorms brought hail and spawned tornadoes in the Panhandle and the Concho Valley.

5.   That brought a hail of criticism from Washington, which wanted Japan to help ease the trade deficit by buying U.S.-made jet fighters.
