1. A biscuit joiner is most handy here, not so much for adding strength to the joint as for lining up the pieces. 2. I got out the trusty Ryobi biscuit joiner and cut slots in the plywood and the pine. 3. The hand-held biscuit joiners make aligning the work far easier, and their shape gives a great deal more glue surface than dowels. 5.
