1.   The batter needs a clean surface to cling to as the cake rises during baking.

2.   A batter needs no help in building a hitting streak.

3.   Crepe batters need a good rest to help the flour fully dissolve into the liquid.

4.   The batter in front of him needs track shoes and the batter behind him needs a construction helmet.

5.   This may work for the pitchers, but the weak batters will need more than incentive.
