1.   Saudi Arabia barred imports of Jordanian fruit and vegetables in late August, claiming that recent shipments had been contaminated with sewage and pesticides.

2.   An ITC administrative law judge recommended barring the import into the U.S. of any products containing the magnets.

3.   After years of denouncing child labor, Congress enacted legislation barring imports of goods made by children in bondage.

4.   Countries that do not have their own legislation, however, can use the protocol to bar imports.

5.   The governments of Saudi Arabia and Sudan say it is banned by Koranic law, and the former president of Somalia, Mohammed Siad Barre, barred its import.

7.   The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled, however, that under the interstate commerce clause of the Constitution, states cannot bar trash imports.

8.   To prevent the government from ending up with millions of tons of unsold peanuts, imports are effectively barred.

9.   U.S. health officials barred some imports of computer monitors made by Acer Peripherals Inc. at its northern Taiwan plant in Kweishan.

10.   Although the sanctions do not bar imports of food and medicine, Iraq has said the trade ban has left the country without the money to buy such goods.
