1.   Edgar Martinez delivered a run-scoring single to left field past shortstop Miguel Tejada, who attempted a backhanded stab instead of getting in front of the ball.

2.   In the fourth inning, DiSarcina cracked the ball to the outer edge of the infield only to have Febles make a diving backhanded stab and throw him out.

3.   Jones tried to make a backhanded stab but misread the last bounce and let the ball get by him for a bases-clearing double.
