1.   Ajuga, ardisia, Asian jasmine, ferns, ivy, liriope, monkey grass, dwarf mondo grass and vinca are shade candidates.

2.   I have seen commercial sites with large plantings of Indian hawthorn and Asian jasmine that are attractive.

3.   Others are Asian jasmine and liriope.

4.   When the last week of February rolls around, cut back ground covers such as liriope and Asian jasmine to remove freeze damage or summer-scorched growth.
