1.   Warlord Dzhaba Iosseliani, whose paramilitary group Mkhedrioni used to back Shevardnadze, but has fallen out and recently been crippled by arrests, is also not represented.

2.   Mohd Najib said the arrests had crippled an international drug-smuggling ring which was distributing pills at entertainment centres in Malaysia and Singapore.

3.   The arrests have crippled the Malaysian national football team but soccer officials said they were necessary to root out corruption from the game.

4.   The mainly Shiite Moslem opposition has denied that recent mass arrests have crippled their movement and vowed to resume violent protests after Ramadan.
