1. A brief period of heavier snow is likely east of Lakes Erie and Ontario as additional moisture is gathered over the warmer lake waters. 2. A freshening onshore wind will supply additional moisture to New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania leading to patches of heavy rain. 3. A vigorous storm system will gather strength and additional moisture as it moves east from the central Rockies. 4. Accumulations could be locally heavy, mainly in northeast Minnesota, where easterly winds off Lake Superior inject additional moisture. 5. Heavier snow can occur near the Great Lakes and the Northeast coast, where additional moisture can be gleaned. 6. Heavier snow will occur near the southern shores of the northern Great Lakes as the cold air gathers additional moisture in passing across the water. 7. Heavier accumulations can occur near the Great Lakes and the Northeast Coast, where additional moisture can be gleaned. 8. Locally, higher amounts may fall near the immediate coast where winds from the ocean import additional moisture. 9. More heavy rain is expected Sunday in the central and southern Appalachians as high pressure east of the Carolinas circulates additional moisture into this region from the Atlantic Ocean. 10. Rain will become heavy Saturday in the Carolinas and Georgia as low pressure developing over the Southeast draws additional moisture from the Atlantic. |
