1.   Industrialised countries are accused, rightly, of double standards.

2.   And it was Adam Werbach, president of the Sierra Club, who accused his country, the United States, of putting the planet at risk.

3.   Even before the postponement, some Arab countries had criticized Switzerland for calling the conference, accusing the country of bending to American and Israeli pressure.

10.   Panel members, however, stopped short of directly accusing any country of fomenting fighting in Zaire, referring only to news reports of foreign help and mercenary activity.
