61. Mould a small ball for the head and secure it to the body with royal icing. 62. Carefully lift the cake into a vertical position and secure flat side down on the cake drum with royal icing. 63. The next day, colour a little royal icing black and place in a piping bag with a fine writing nozzle. 64. Colour the remaining royal icing green and cover the drum around the postbox, peaking with a palette knife for a grass effect. 65. Finally, wrap the ribbon around the edge of the cake drum, securing with glue or royal icing. 66. Then, using royal icing as cement, carefully lay the coloured triangles, red and blue alternately, beside each other to form a pointed roof. 67. Place a little royal icing in a piping bag with a star nozzle and pipe along the joins of the triangles to secure them. 68. Sticking on with a little royal icing or glue, wrap the strip carefully around the edge of the roof, scalloped edge upwards. 69. Cover the entire drum with paper or cloth, and wrap the ribbon around the drum, securing with glue or royal icing. |
