51.   President Alberto Fujimori on Thursday categorically denied reports that he would be willing to release some rebel prisoners to end a three-month-old hostage crisis here.

52.   Rebel prisoners took their guards hostage Monday and threatened to kill them after taking over a section of the high-security Yatala Prison here, police said.

53.   Reports said there was also no immediate plan to move against the rebel prisoners at Tangail, where negotiations were also being held.

54.   The rebel prisoners were handed over to the front by the Red Cross, who helped mediate the release.
