51.   Many residents of the Seventh District say their streets are not as well taken care of in terms of cleanliness and garbage disposal as they used to be.

52.   One other consequence of garbage disposal at the river banks is that garbage trucks now converge at the Batang Berjuntai and Kundang roads.

53.   The river has become heavily polluted with industrial, municipal and household waste over the years because of improper garbage disposal and lax enforcement of sanitary and environmental regulations.

54.   THE Selangor Government will encourage local authorities in the Klang Valley to introduce incinerators for garbage disposal as rubbish dumps were increasingly polluting rivers and the environment.

55.   There are also fears about delays in restoring garbage disposal and medical services, raising the prospect of disease outbreaks.

56.   Ting said with land becoming scarce in Peninsular Malaysia, the Government was interested in adopting the use of incinerators for garbage disposal although it may be costly.

57.   They said when they called the district council to complain, they were told big organisations like hotels should employ their own private contractor to handle garbage disposals.
