That leaves chemical paint remover, a miserable, messy job, compounded by the fact that you will be working overhead. 47. The old finish was removed with paint remover and I have tried Gel Gloss, but that does not do the job. 48. The only solution I can suggest now is to remove all of the old paint, either by sanding and scraping or with a chemical paint remover. 49. Then, use a non-methylene chloride paint remover. 50. The walls must be sanded to bare wood or the finish removed with chemical paint remover, then sanded. |
