41.   Despite US opposition, UNESCO on Thursday designated a dome marking the atomic bombing of Hiroshima as a world heritage site.

42.   Meanwhile, Nagasaki and Hiroshima, the two Japanese cities that suffered the atomic bombings towards the end of World War II, sent letters of protest to Xu.

43.   Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama said Friday that Japan might protest over a US stamp depicting the mushroom clouds of the World War II atomic bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

44.   Testimony from six Koreans and two Australians who survived the atomic bombing will be included.

45.   The foreign minister, however, said that each country had its own point of view on the atomic bombings.
