31.   Hupp has traveled to legislatures across the country in an effort to convince lawmakers of the benefits of laws that allow people to carry concealed handguns.

32.   In Central Texas, Travis County outlaws concealed handguns in its buildings and parks and Austin bans them inside its buildings.

33.   In New Jersey, concealed handgun permits are virtually nonexistent, as that state only allows residents whose careers require them to carry weapons.

34.   Indeed, the state now has the burden of showing why an applicant should not be permitted to carry a concealed handgun.

35.   Kansas Gov. Bill Graves vetoed a measure this year that would have made it easier for residents to get permits to carry concealed handguns anywhere in the state.

36.   Legislatures in Kansas and Colorado passed bills allowing concealed handguns earlier this year, but their governors vetoed the bills.

37.   Missouri just voted down concealed handguns.

38.   Now that concealed handguns are legal in most of Texas, upscale types want target ranges of their own.

39.   Of course, George Jr. also signed laws allowing Texans to carry concealed handguns, and to protect gun makers from government lawsuits.

40.   One measure allowed Texans to carry concealed handguns with a permit.
