31.   The next day, make six holes at equal intervals around the top edge of the blue cake drum to accommodate the candy canes.

32.   With a sharp instrument, make six corresponding holes in the bottom of the second cake drum.

33.   Cut the cake drum in half diagonally using a lightweight saw or sturdy knife.

34.   Brush the remaining glaze over the rest of the cake and place on the cake drum.

35.   Brush the cake with apricot glaze and place the cake on the cake drum.

36.   Finally, colour the desiccated coconut blue or green and scatter over the cake drum.

37.   Transfer the boat to the cake drum and secure on with a little royal icing.

38.   Place the buoys on the cake drum around the boat and stick the large flag on to the back of the boat with a little royal icing.

39.   Finally, wrap the ribbon around the edge of the cake drum, securing on with a little spare royal icing.

40.   Place the large piece of cake on the cake drum.
