21.   Witnesses said the villagers from Deir al-Hatab outside Nablus held the protest after residents of the nearby settlement of Elon More prevented farmers harvesting their olive crop.

22.   Palestinians across the West Bank have also complained that settlers have become more aggressive in seizing their farmlands and preventing Palestinian farmers from harvesting their crops.

23.   Prices have also skyrocketed in the capital, and the rebels are trying to prevent Hutu farmers around Bujumbura from taking their produce into the city.

24.   The adverse weather prevented farmers from reaching their fields and flooded new plantings, forcing them to replant -- if that was still possible.

25.   The government has also expanded total acreage of cotton planting in the past year to try to prevent more farmers from turning their backs on the crop.
