11.   Add the pasta to the sauce and toss to coat all strands, adding a little pasta water if necessary.

12.   Add a little reserved pasta water to loosen it up, if necessary.

13.   Add more pasta water, if sauce becomes too dry.

14.   Does it do any good to cast oil on boiling pasta water?

15.   Drain, reserving one cup of the pasta water.

16.   Drain, reserving a couple of tablespoons of pasta cooking water.

17.   For a main course, cauliflower may be tossed with pasta, a little oil and some pasta cooking water.

18.   For this reason, my rosemary bush is happiest near the stove in the winter, when soups and pasta water provide moist hot heat.
