11.   Palestinian police arrested scores of Islamic activists Tuesday in a sweep ordered under Israeli pressure following the weekend suicide bombings in Israel, Palestinian sources said.

12.   The arrests were ordered under the tough Special Powers Act, which has been principally used by successive governments to detain political opponents.
