11.   Norway has threatened to leave the IWC, as Iceland has already done, if the commission opposes its plans to resume whaling.

12.   Industrialists have opposed the plan, arguing that it will lead to substantial cost increases which will have to be passed on to the consumer.

13.   In a day-long hearing students who oppose the plan say academics broke college rules by not consulting them about the plan.

14.   And local planners see little reason to oppose the plan...

15.   But Ulster Unionist councillor Jim Rodgers strongly opposes the plan, saying the increase in road and air traffic will make local people suffer.

16.   Mold Town Council has opposed the plan.

17.   The NRA has applied for discretionary rate relief but Mr Clark is opposing the plan.

18.   Meanwhile Stockton and Middlesbrough Councils have both agreed to spend on opposing the plans.

19.   Hospital nurses opposing a plan to make them wear their own clothes for work have put off a decision to take action in protest.

20.   However, the lobby group which successfully opposed the plan, and environmental organisations, are now convinced the registers will be dropped.
