11.   There will be some spitting and hissing, but the mixture will bubble up and turn golden brown.

12.   Traditionally metalworkers made their acid flux by dropping pieces of zinc into hydrochloric acid until the mixture ceased bubbling.

13.   When mixture bubbles around edges and seems ready to boil, remove from heat.
