11. Once it is clean, seal the tile with masonry sealer. 12. Or, remove the shiny coating with chemical paint remover, and apply a masonry sealer that does not shine. 13. Standard masonry sealers are not a good idea for a chimney because they can trap moisture in the brick. 14. The Crack Cure and silicone masonry sealer have a better chance of filling the crack because they are liquid. 15. The sealer to use is a masonry sealer, sold in building supply stores. 16. This treatment will seal the stone just as the masonry sealer does, but it will darken it. 17. To make the stone a little more resistant to mildew, apply one thin coat of a masonry sealer. 18. To prevent this happening again, clean the concrete thoroughly and cover it with two coats of a clear masonry sealer. 19. Whatever cleans the concrete, you can then seal it with masonry sealer, which will make the concrete resistant to water and stains. |
