11. Personal Interviews must operate as collaborative activity between tutor and students directed towards reaching agreement on the achievement of learning outcomes. 12. The learning outcomes in these modules have so much in common that it seems inappropriate to have three teachers teaching them in three separate classrooms. 13. There are many ways in which history can be presented to pupils and the effective teacher will select the most appropriate vehicle to achieve each identified learning outcome. 14. When linked to the attainment of specific learning outcomes it can provide pupils with a positive stimulus and aid to learning. 15. Secondly, in the attainment of each learning outcome pupils must be informed of the tasks which contribute to summative assessment. 16. Fourthly, pupils who have been unsuccessful in achieving all the learning outcomes must have the opportunity to be re-assessed after appropriate consolidation or reinforcement. 17. Nevertheless, despite the above positive features of assessment and certification, there may be some well-motivated and diligent pupils who still fail to achieve all the learning outcomes. 18. The administrators of educational institutions would like nothing better than to get a report that says these are the areas where technology makes a qualitative difference in learning outcomes. |
