11.   The crown prince of Qatar seized power from his father while the ruling emir was out of the country, state-run Qatar Radio said Tuesday.

12.   The emir was in Zurich on Tuesday, but checked out of a luxury hotel and came to Geneva, said Justice Department spokesman Folco Galli.

13.   The health minister had said on Friday that the emir was conscious and could speak.

14.   The emir is not fond of travel and the current visit to England is his longest trip abroad.

15.   The meeting was warm, a newspaper said, and the deposed emir should be able to come home now.

16.   But Galli said he did not know whether the ousted emir was still in the city.

17.   But the emir is also aware of the limitations he faces and the fragility of law and order in his region.

18.   The current emir is Sheikh Issa ibn Salman al-Khalifa, and his crown prince is Sheikh Hamad in Issa ibn Khalifa.

19.   The emir was on his first visit to Jordan since deposing his father in a bloodless palace coup in June.
