11.   In Malacca, candidates running for posts in the Umno divisional elections should not transform the contests into a silat competition.

12.   In Sabah, except for the Gaya Division, all the incumbent divisional heads were either retained unnopposed or re-elected when the divisional elections ended today.

13.   IPOH, Mon. - State Umno liaison chief Tan Sri Ramli Ngah Talib today advised Umno members against challenging existing division chiefs at the divisional elections next month.

14.   Meanwhile, four Umno division heads in Terengganu, including a deputy minister, are being challenged in their respective divisional elections to be held within the fortnight.

15.   On the just concluded Umno divisional elections, Dr Mahathir said the meetings were generally smooth although there were some reports of malpractices.

16.   Sabbaruddin, who is Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister, said the issue of money politics came to light again especially with the coming branch and divisional elections.

17.   Sabbaruddin said in future Umno members who had been declared bankrupt, would be considered to have lost in divisional elections even if they won.

18.   Saidin who was a former State Executive Councillor was returned as the division chief after defeating Youth chief Soohami Abdul Rahman at the recent divisional election.

19.   The branch and divisional elections were earlier scheduled for March and April respectively.

20.   The committee will monitor any violation of party rules in relation to the branch and divisional elections.
