11.   The groups oppose the merger, claiming NationsBank has a poor record of lending to poor neighborhoods and that its NationsCredit consumer finance subsidiary discriminates against minorities.

12.   The leaders also called on the government to maintain its low interest rate policy to encourage corporate capital investment and allow consumers to finance major purchases cheaply.
