11. Cover with another layer of bread slices cut to fit, then layer with remaining cheese, salsa, chicken and black beans. 12. Cut remaining three cloves of garlic in half, and rub cut side of each piece on one side of each bread slice. 13. Cover with remaining bread slice. 14. Dip bread slices into egg mixture and turn to coat both sides. 15. Divide ham and cheese slices among prepared bread slices, then top each with tomato and onion slices and green bell pepper. 16. Drizzle bread slices with olive oil, and distribute escarole over bread. 17. For example, you observe a black growth on bread slices and wonder how it got there. 18. Fill small bowl with olives or nibbles, the larger bowl with crackers or bread slices. 19. Garnish with herb sprigs and serve with sourdough bread slices. 20. Fry the bread slices on both sides until browned, then fry the tortillas until crisp, adding more oil as needed. |
