1.   At this stage, let the soil dry and then plant them outside when you can break ground.

2.   Allow the soil to dry between waterings.

3.   But when plants are brought indoors for winter, the soil dries more slowly, and overwatering can be a problem.

4.   Decrease watering fall to spring, letting the soil dry between waterings.

5.   I no longer have the trouble of tilling and the delay of waiting for the soil to dry enough to till in spring.

6.   It seems weekly watering would be sufficient, especially in winter, but if the temperature has been higher, then the soil may be drying more quickly.

7.   Many containers will need to be watered daily, even if they are filled with heat-tolerant plants, because the soil dries quickly.

8.   Remove the faded flowers, continue to water until the leaves yellow, and then let the soil dry.

9.   Then let the soil dry before watering again.

10.   Water, allow the soil to dry some, then water again.
