1.   The ribbed vault is a lighter construction and so does not place the same enormous stress upon the walls and arcades supporting it.

2.   Inside, four large stone columns on torus moulding and square bases support a quadripartite ribbed vault on their cushion capitals, while groined vaults cover the encircling ambulatory.

3.   Early ribbed vaults are quadripartite, that is, each bay is divided into four compartments by diagonal ribs.

4.   Only the interior ribbed vaults are Gothic, and the abundance of fine sculpture both on the exterior and inside.

5.   Inside, the five-aisled church is immensely tall, its piers extending up to the complicated stellar and geometric ribbed vaults of nave and choir.

6.   The building is lofty and light in its tall nave and choir, with the shafts of the ribbed vaults ascending unbroken between the high clerestory windows.

7.   The nave and choir have the usual Gothic ribbed vault but in the aisles the Piast vaulting can be clearly studied.
